this letter opener is beautiful! i got it for my friend who is a giant LOTR nerd! he will basically never use this letter opener, but will instead display it in its case (beautiful wooden case as well btw!). it is heavy and doesnt feel cheap at all!
the only thing i could possibly complain about is that i felt it was a little dull for a letter opener, but considering anyone who owns this will most likely never take it out of its case, its nots a big deal!

There’s not really a lot to say about a product like this. If you want a letter opener made to look like Sting, that’s what you get. For the price, I’m certainly pleased with the quality. At a glance, it actually looks much more expensive than it is, and comes in a nice–if inexpensive–display box. There are a few things you should know before purchasing:
*While it’s certainly perfectly serviceable as a letter opener, this is not sharp at all. If you’re looking for a paper knife rather than just a knife-shaped opener, this probably isn’t for you, as it will tear the paper rather than cutting it.
*The etching on the blade is printed rather than etched. On one side, the manufacturer has included their copyright information. It’s not particularly obtrusive if you store the knife with that side facing down.
*The box looks like carved wood, but the design is actually printed on.
For me, these aren’t deal-breakers. I bought this to serve as a letter opener that adds a certain charm to my desk, rather than to be a true display piece. For that purpose, you won’t be disappointed.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. It was quite a disappointment when it opened the gift and the decorative storage box fell apart in his hand. The letter opener itself is okay, not really sharp, more like a butter knife. We kept it and I repaired the box with wood glue and clamps. But still, really???

Better than I expected! It’s very sturdy, no wiggle or bend even on the toughest of envelopes, and I was pleasantly surprised with the detail on the case!

I purchased this for a family member that is a Lord of the rings fan. The letter opener itself is gorgeous and the display box is nice but it’s not put together well. The corners keep coming apart. I finally had to glue them shut.

Super awesome, amazing! My girl wanted a letter opener… she had no idea it wouldn’t be a butter knife or credit card sized "safety opener". High quality item… box is KIND of flimsy. The clear top is a thin plastic, mine was cracked upon arrival. Box wood itself is fairly soft, so I don’t know if the latch will survive the test of time. The opener itself… couldn’t possibly be happier!!!!
EDIT: I may try to cut down a piece of lexan to replace the cover… shouldn’t be hard at all.

This is a very nice letter opener. I mainly purchased this as a conversation piece to rest near my books of The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings. The Noble Collection has done a beautiful job in recreating Sting on a miniature scale. There’s a nice laser etched design on the blade that isn’t shown in the picture though. Also, the sword handle is a much darker brown than what is pictured too. I really like the display case that comes with Sting, and it’s crafted really well. Two thumbs up!

I love this letter opener! The quality, feel, weight and craftsmanship is all round good. Very happy with this purchase. Does the job and adds a bit of enjoyment when paying bills.
Bought the GLAMDRING Letter Opener because I loved this one so much and wasn’t impressed. Didn’t feel as well made. To small, skinny and lightweight. Didn’t compare.
However Sting is definitely great buy for any LOTR fan.
