Over the years I have found that buying a budget-friendly phone has served me well. The design and features are comparable to their more expensive counterparts and you could easily upgrade every year and still save money. The Umidigi A 11 Pro Max is my latest purchase and this phone has surpassed my expectations. The specs are amazing. I have the 8 Gb and 128 Gb edition and have found that it is powerful enough for all my needs, mainly streaming and a few low-intensity games. I am certain that with these specs this phone could satisfy the majority of users. I love the phone’s design, a combination of metal glass and plastic that has a nice solid feel in your hand. I opted for the Mist Blue and I love this color. Some people have objected to the “Beyond Dreams” slogan on the back of the phone but I think it looks cool! I have been using this phone now for more than a week and have been pleased with the features. I love the fact that the A 11 Pro has a 3.5mm audio jack to work with my earphones and an old car stereo. FM works great with the earphones. I also used the additional storage to add my music files to the phone, though there is ample onboard storage. I have been using the side fingerprint unlocker with success but I cannot speak to the face recognition feature because I do not wish to use it. Connectivity is awesome! Many phones I have owned only had one or two working 4g bands but this phone runs the gamut easily connecting wherever I go. This is also the first phone I have owned that supports wifi calling-a nice feature. Bluetooth has connected easily to my comparable devices. The thermometer seems accurate, though I have only used it a few times. The cameras are great, both front and back. Took superb night shots. 1080P video streaming. But the feature I love the most is the battery and more importantly the battery life. The A 11 Pro max has a 5150mAh capacity battery and I can easily get two days of usage on a full charge! The charger is not the fastest I have had but with the extended life of the battery, it is not as important a feature as with other phones.
Overall I give this Umidigi A 11 Pro a 4.5 out of 5 stars. A faster charger stereo speakers and NFC would have been nice but this is a feature-full phone at a nice price point! I would definitely recommend this phone for any budget conscience buyer.

This might get long, but I’ll try to be relatively detailed for those looking for a detailed review.
I like this phone very much so far. I had bought a Moto G7 in April, but found out soon after that it was no longer going to be compatible with most US carriers as it did not have VoLTE. The G7 stopped working on October 9th and I waited until Prime day (Oct 13) to purchase the Umidigi A7 Pro in hopes that it was discounted (it was).
Cons:
1. I’m not overly impressed with the camera in general. It doesn’t take particularly good photos, but I’m probably expecting too much from it. In low light, it’s just… not great, even with flash. (Example photo #1)
I also wish the camera app had a “click anywhere” option so I could take pictures more easily as it’s a pretty large display and I have rather short fingers so it’s hard to get what I want in frame and still be able to hit the shutter button.
The camera does seem to work relatively well in good lighting (can’t even come close to comparing to an iPhone X camera obviously).
I have not taken many pictures so far, but it’s decent for an inexpensive phone. (Example photo #2)
2. The auxiliary port doesn’t really work. I normally use bluetooth earbuds, so this isn’t a huge deal, but I do like to use a tuner to broadcast music through my car radio on occasion. It will play for 30 seconds and then stop as if I’ve removed the dongle.
I was expecting issues with the aux port before going through with my purchase as there are multiple reviews addressing similar problems, so this was not a surprise to me.
3. The screen glitches occasionally for about half a second. It doesn’t seem to actually interfere with whatever I’m doing (if I’m typing a message, it doesn’t cause issues with the keyboard), but it does worry me a bit. I didn’t see any reviews saying the screen had stopped working after glitches, so hopefully it doesn’t for me.
Again, I was expecting this because of previous reviews.
4. I don’t like the settings for the home screens. The Google search bar seems to be permanent and it’s not as customizable as I’d like.
This was easily fixed with the Nova Launcher app. Nova also allows you to have an app drawer, which is very helpful – I got used to having that feature with my G7 and absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it if you want a more functional and easily customizable layout. The free version works great and you don’t get ads.
5. This was likely my fault somehow, but I was forced to reformat my relatively full 128 gb SD card to make it useable in this phone.
It worked fine in my last phone, but it may have become corrupted when I took it out of my computer. It did not initially register on the phone at all, but I was able to format and reload it and it is working fine.
6. Not a big deal, but the power button is positioned a bit too low. I have seen several decent looking wallet-style cases but it looks like the clasp would be at exactly the level of the power button.
Pros:
1. The phone is extremely attractive. I purchased the blue one and it looks very nice (though fingerprints show up easily on the smooth, shiny finish).
It also came with a silicone case, but I would recommend getting a higher quality one as the included case is pretty thin.
It does also have a thin screen protector pre-installed, but I would suggest investing in a better tempered glass screen protector.
2. The micro camera is pretty good. I’ve never had one on a phone before and haven’t gotten a lot of use out of it in the week that I’ve had it, but it does seem to take decent closeup photos. (Example photo #3)
3. The display is comparable to my Motorola in size and display quality – the quality of the picture may be slightly better on the Umidigi.
4. I’m very impressed with the battery life. The G7 had a 3000 mAh battery and I was lucky if it lasted through the afternoon. With the Umidigi, the 4150 mAh battery lasts for at least a day of heavy use. (With over 11 hours off the charger and more than seven hours of screen time, the phone is still at 33% – with less screen time, the battery lasted nearly two full days.)
5. The fingerprint reader is very good. The G7 was hit-or-miss and I often had to reposition my finger multiple times to access the phone or certain apps. I have had no issues with the Umidigi A7 Pro. It correctly reads my fingerprint every time.
6. The speaker is also surprisingly good. It seems to have good range and doesn’t sound “off” at high levels.
7. Calls are very clear and I have no issues with reception unless I’m in an area without great reception anyway.
8. Wifi works reliably. I had WiFi connection issues with my last two phones and have not experienced any on my A7.
All-in-all, I definitely recommend this phone if you are on a budget. There are definitely a few issues, but they’re not a big problem for me personally. I do wish there were more options as far as cases go, but it is a pretty new model and it’s not a particularly well-known brand. I do know Umidigi sells on AliExpress, so it may be worth a look on there.
Alright. That definitely got way too long, but hopefully it helps you out!

Very well made device. The phone accepted my SIM card immediately and didn’t have to call Att to activate the phone. However, it only worked for 15mins then Att/Cricket sent a message saying this phone is not compatible with HD calling service so the service was disconnected and I had to call into tech support to verify. This also happened with Verizon as well. I got the phone as a replacement for mom and she loved it and is very sad that we have to return the phone.

Let’s get the question on everybody’s mind out of the way first: Will the UMIDIGI A7 Pro perform as well as a top-tier flagship smartphone from other OEM’s – no. Will it perform well in your everyday tasks that most users need a smartphone for – absolutely!
After using the phone for a few days I was pleasantly suprised by just how will it performed for all but the most processor intensive games.
First impressions are extremely important and can make or break your opinion of a device which is why I wanted to include a couple of pictures that show just how much attention to detail and thoughtfullness was put into that all important first impression.
From the little outer sleeve, to the thank you card, through the notes on the front and back screen protectors, and ending with the script on the sleeve containing the little quick start guide and sim extraction tool are all classy.
Note that both a case and screen protector are pre-installed on the phone.
Once you remove the case you get a glimpse at the beautiful finish on the back of the phone, blue is the color I picked and boy does it ever shine and shimmer in the light. Really nice job. Also on the back is the four camera module housed in a rectangular bump. Again I’d like to point out the attention to detail here with the layout and something as seemingly simple as the font and color used for the text, and making the flash element look like a light strip.
I’m ‘color blind’ so I can’t comment on the color accuracy of the photos I’ve taken but they are, in my opinion, quite good as far as subject reproduction.
The addition of a macro and wide angle lenses make a difference and aid in getting just the right shot.
There were two OTA updates available from UMIDIGI which I installed – now, that may seem normal, but what wasn’t was that there was a description of what bugs were addressed and features that would be added.
Another pleasant surprise was that there was no bloatware installed – only a subset of Google apps that most people would install anyway.
UMIGIDI has gone very light with the skinning of Android which no doubt helps keep the performance of the device up, especially when combined with 4GB of RAM and 128G of storage space (which is expandable). Little helpful touches like having the choice to turn off alerts for turning off the screen or plugging in the charger are a welcome addition. The fingerprint reader on the back is as fast and accurate as ant other I’ve used. The screen is bright and easy to read.
Battery life has been impressive, I got the phone Sunday afternoon and even after the rigours of setting up a new device, installing all of the software and updates, and getting everything configured the way you want it, I still had 20% remaining as I write this on Tuesday evening.
As stated in my description, this phone may be inexpensive, but the combination of build quality and feature set make it perform far above the price you’ve paid for it.
You will not be disappointed if you decide to purchase this device as long as you are not a hard core gamer.

This is my third Umidigi phone. I’ve had the A1 Pro, The A5 Pro, and now the A7 Pro. The A7 Pro is easily the best A pro series phone that has been made so far. It looks really nice, it has a nice weight, and feels way more premium than the price would suggest. I cannot overstate how nice the blue version looks when the light catches it the right way. The cameras do leave a little to be desired, but at this price point it does come with your standard camera, a wide angle, and a macro camera. So while the cameras may not be great, it certainly does have a lot of flexibility in terms of what can be done with it. A lower quality macro shot is better than not having the capability at all. Compared to the cameras on the other Umidigi phones I’ve had, it is still an improvement. Performance is totally acceptable as well. Where the A1 and A5 Pros were riddled with UI stutter, I have not noticed it at all with the A7 Pro. App loading times are reasonable and I don’t feel like I’m waiting around for the phone to catch up to what I’m trying to do. USB-C charging is back on the A7 which is good. Battery life is decent and should get you through a day with moderate use unless you are heavy gaming in which case you may need a recharge. The speaker is sufficiently loud. The phone comes with a screen protector preinstalled AND a case. You don’t have to buy anything else to get the phone and keep it protected. Stock Android is a huge plus as far as software experience goes.
Overall, I really like the phone as a budget option or even a first phone for a child or adolescent.
Some tips:
Install system updates. Settings -> About Phone -> Wireless update. Repeat until it tells you there are no more updates. Umidigi tends to fix a lot of the initial bugs with these updates and should be seen as mandatory.
(Optional) Home screen: Long press on wallpaper, go into settings, change launcher style to default to bring back the app drawer. Swipe up on home screen to access it (this turns on stock android behavior).
(Optional) Animations. Settings -> About Phone -> Tap 7 times on build number at the bottom. Back into the main settings menu and go to system, advanced, then developer options. Scroll down to animator duration scale and set it to 1. Umidigi sets the default animation speeds to half of the default. Changing the animator scale will make make things like the loading circles appear more smooth and less warp speed.
You can can also change the accent color, system font, and icon shapes in the developer options at the bottom.
Gaming: Also in developer settings are game driver settings. Turning this on for PUBG Mobile was the difference between playing the game at low settings with high framerate and balanced settings at high frame rate. Still had some stutters here and there, but totally playable.
I would recommend leaving duraspeed disabled. These types of battery saving apps are notorious for killing apps you actually rely on which results in a failure to receive notifications.

I was very, very, VERY pleased with the purchase. Overall the phone completely surpassed my first smartphone, which I got in 2016 for just a little bit less than the price of the A7 Pro. I will list all of the good and bad features below.
CAMERA (7/10): The visuals are not bad and look really amazing in proper lighting. The colors are dynamic. The different modes are pretty cool and work sufficiently. One issue is that when recording video, the focus tends to go back-and-forth and won’t just stay still, even when changing settings. The way that the camera modes change also requires the user to click through each of the options, instead of just jumping to the option desired from the beginning; this process can take a few seconds, which is not ideal for quick pictures. I also, for a short time, had an issue where the camera did not open properly (just a black screen) but that was only a 1-2 day issue that went away and make have been triggered by use of another photo app.
BATTERY (10/10): Amazing. No longer do I need to panic when I fall asleep without charging my phone. It always has enough battery to last until the next day.
VISUALS (10/10): Looks great. Colors are vivid. I have never had any issues, though I am not a quality fanatic. I love the little notch on the top for when I watch videos in VLC or on the YouTube app.
INTERNET/WIRELESS SPEED (9/10): Works very well. Quick adjustment for most part, with maybe a slow startup on mobile data when coming out of a dead zone, but that may just be more of a Verizon issue.
ACCESSIBILITY/FUNCTIONALITY (9/10): This was a big turn-off for me.
The homescreen does not allow you to remove the widgets and is ust a little bit odd (though I am sure other people would like it); personally I downloaded Nova Launcher and it works great with the phone. I just prefer only apps on my home screen. I have had devices where Nova would crash, etc, but the phone has really good primary/default app options. Anyways, easy to clear that issue.
The big issue is notifications on this phone. I don’t always get them. They dont always show up on the top of the screen; in fact, about half of my apps show them and half of them don’t. Currently I am not getting Outlook emails at all and I am receiving late Gmail emails, which is a pain as a graduate student and teaching assistant who constantly needs to see time-sensitive emails.
The notification issue does not stop there. I do not receive any notification badges at all for any apps. I have tried alternative apps and changing all of the appropriate settings in my phone (I am pretty technologically skilled), but I have had no such luck in solving the issue. I even reached out to Umidigi, but I did not receive the email correctly and it had expired when I received it.
Otherwise, everything functions well. Speedy. Sleek. Good shortcuts and figure gestures. It’s just the notification thing really bothers me, and I might even try resetting my phone or something shortly in attempt to fix the issue.
EDIT: You just need to turn off Duraspeed and restart the phone to get notification badges back if it doesnt work the first time. I still have some minor notification issues, but I think it is just the apps themselves.
APPEARANCE/DESIGN (9/10): The phone is beautiful. I love the size. I love the setup. The only issue I have is that I do not like where the headphone jack is; I prefer it on top of the phone, even though I could just flip the phone the other way to get rid of the issue.
STORAGE (10/10): You arent getting scammed. I got the 128 GB version and I love it. My first smartphone only had 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM, so I am in love with 4 GB of RAM and 8x the storage without even including external Micro SD.
OVERALL (8/10): I still love this phone. I want to actually get a new model with a better camera soon, despite the fact that I just bought this one (which says a lot as someone who only got a smartphone by force right before his first day of college). I am upset about the notification issue, but I will find a way to resolve it hopefully; I may have honestly just gotten a dud or had some kind of bootup issue. I would highly recommend this phone to everbody I know, whether they want a budget phone or just a good phone in general.
Two 350 –
I bought an umidigi a11 in February of 2022. I loved the phone. It worked great. I purchased a nice leather case for it and kept the phone clean and optimised. Then July 7th 2023 the phone just went blank overnight. No power at all. I tried to do a factory reset, but the phone was not responding to anything. I was shocked I couldn’t believe that overnight the phone just totally turned into a paperweight. It was working great before I went to sleep. I bought another umidigi a11 because I really like the phone. I was planning on buying a umidigi Bison at some point. I received the new a11 it worked for 5 days and then the screen started flickering going crazy. I performed a factory reset and the screen still continued to flash and strobe. I reached out to Amazon not knowing how their return process works. They were awesome they sent me another new phone the next day and emailed me a UPS label to return the defective phone. I received my third umidigi a11 and set it up. It works great except for the display. On a gray screen you can see a big rectangle the length of the phone with a border around the edges. You don’t notice it watching a movie so much but you see it every time there’s a gray screen and it’s highly annoying. The phone that I had previously, before the screen totally went bad ,also had the same Gray rectangle. I don’t know what’s going on with these phones. I was so excited and happy with my first one. I wanted to bye a umidigi Bison, but now I’m Leary to buy another Umidigi phone. I really thought that umidigi was going to be my go to brand forever . I’m not so sure anymore. I’m thankful for Amazon for the speedy replacement of my phone. I am just worried that this phone will be another dud.
Update, I was offered a complete refund from Umidigi. It’s been 3 weeks and now they are saying that I won’t get a complete refund. They are only offering me a partial refund. Why would they take the time to email me and offer a full refund and then later only offer a partial refund. This is a terrible way to do business and I do not recommend humidity phones to anyone. They will work great for a few months and they all will die the same way unexpectedly.

It works well when first arrived. However, after a year, the phone blackout and stop working. $170/year or ~$14/month is decent compare to other options. would not recommend for gaming however since it has serious lag. Finally, Bluetooth only works 50%: it doesn’t do very well with Airpod and cannot use AirPod’s mic.
If you want a low-end option, this is durable, but expect some hiccup.

I bought this phone to replace a Oneplus 6t that was lost and I was surprised at how high quality the phone was for the price. First, it is a dual sim phone with SD card memory. The phone felt nice and heavy for the price I was expecting a cheap plastic phone but this phone is metal and glass and felt like a much more premium phone. The battery is huge it easily lasted me 2 days between charging, the fingerprint sensor is located on the back and it was fast and accurate every time I picked it up. It also has facial ID that seemed pretty accurate although I didn’t use it much since the fingerprint scanner is so convenient and we have to wear masks all the time. The phone is using stock android 10 so it is as fast and easy to use as the much more expensive Pixel phone. The camera is very good for the price and takes great pictures in daylight and decent pictures in the dark. It can be a little slower on the shutter speed than I am used to from the oneplus but the camera is much higher quality than any similarly priced phone. I bought the 128gb Ocean Blue and it was a great looking phone. It comes with a case and a screen protector I went without the case because it is such a nice looking phone. The signal strength is great with T mobile and AT&T it was able to use VoLTE and Wifi calling with both. The phone has 4gb of ram and a MediaTek, Helio P23 quad-core processor which was sufficiently fast for most applications. The phone was fairly aggressive in closing background apps but I was able to root it fairly easily and tune the kernel settings. Unfortunately, there isn’t much of a rom selection although I was able to run lineage OS, UMIDIGI was pushing out updates fairly quickly and it is running the latest version of android. The screen is large at 6.3 inches at a 19.5:9 aspect ratio the screen had vivid colors and was actually on par with the oneplus 6t. Netflix and Youtube looked fantastic on the phone. I was able to find a version of google camera that worked and the pictures were outstanding. Most versions of google camera do not work though due to the MediaTek processor. Overall this is the best phone I have ever used for the price beating out Samsung and LG phones at a similar price by far. Between the clean stock android experience the quality camera and beautiful screen I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for an android phone under 400 dollars and at 170 dollars this phone cannot be beaten. It has a type C charging but no quick charge but considering the good battery life I never needed quick charge. I included a few pictures taken with the stock AI camera app.
